The Metropolitan Opera

Founded in 1880, the Met Opera is the largest classical music organization in North America. With a repertoire ranging from from 18th century Baroque to late 20th century Minimalism, the Met presents around 27 different operas every year. The Metropolitan Opera House was designed by architect Wallace K. Harrison and is adorned at the lobby with two famous murals by Marc Chagall. Photo: Mark Bussell.
